STEMME-SAGEM S15 “Patroller” in the configuration that is operated by the French Ministry of the Interior for wild- fire detection in South France since the late summer of 2010. Early detection needed Early detection of wildfire safes costs and protects the environment and property. But above all it safes the life and health of fire fighters and residents in the area. Early detection saves lifes and costs Every year loss to wildfires: - 100,000 km2 tropical rainforest - several million km2 of savanna - 10 - 80,000 km2 of Canadian forest - 20 - 90,000 km2 of North-American forest - over 10,000 km2 of European forest Wildfire impacts on the national economy Year after year lifes and property of citizen are lost to wildfires.  If detected late fire fighting becomes very risky and cost-  intensive. Wildfires add their share to the global warming and CO2  output. The resources needed to fight against these fires and the  destruction caused by them have a negative effect on the  national economy. TV-broadcasts for days from fire fighters unable to stop the  disaster do not enhance the image of authorities and  governments. Managing the fire fighting No matter how the wildfire started, by natural causes, by  accident or intentionally, the faster the reaction the better the  chance to stop it before it runs out of control. Detection is followed by a series of management decisions.  What action must be taken first? Dispatch ground forces with  engines, helicopters or aircraft dropping water, smokejumpers or has the area to be evacuated from residents? read more Wild-fire detection ◄ back to applications STEMME UMS  -  Umwelt Messflug Systeme GmbH  -  Germany
